My Herbs Magazine  |  My Herbs 23
Dear fellow Herbalist,
Spring is almost here, hurray! One might sometimes get the feeling from all that’s going on in the world that we’re living in strange, exceptional times. But then the sight of migrating starlings who have just returned to our garden, or the sight of the first blooming snowdrops or pussy willows whose sprouts have been shooting for the past two weeks despite all the snow, always brings me down to earth and convinces me that our times may not be as strange or exceptional as I’d thought.
I look forward to seeing lilies of the valley grow again – I know where they grow; it’s a short walk away from our house in the woods, just beside a mossy pathway. Last year, they bloomed at the end of April but with winter being so cold this year, I expect to see them in late May.
We all know that lilies of the valley are poisonous. Paradoxically enough, though, a few drops of a tincture made from them can be used to alleviate sudden heart problems, migraines, or vertigo. One just needs to know how to use herbs properly so that they can help us and not endanger us.
My Herbs Magazine is there for you. Its ambition is, hopefully, to bring some positive thoughts into your mind which might perhaps provide inspiration for doing good in the world.
On behalf of the whole editorial team, I wish you a spring full of joy, sunlight, and pleasant moods.
