Washington, D.C.— Activists erected tee-pees near the Washington Monument on March 8 to protest the $3.8 billion Dakota Access Pipeline. That same day, a federal judge declined to temporarily halt the final phase of construction. The decision came a month after the Trump White House cleared the way for the pipeline’s completion, reversing a decision by the Obama administration. The oil could begin lowing this month.
