The government issued an “orange” alert—the second most severe level—around the 10,500-foot-high volcano, located about 250 miles south of Santiago, after detecting a stream of lava in the crater that was capable of spilling over at any time.

According to Political Capital, a Budapest based think tank, Russian-based trolls, Twitter bots and social media sock puppets have been put to work, boosting exaggerated stories of crimes by immigrants and “selling pro-Kremlin narratives within a tabloid, conspiracy package.”
