Ingrid Hardy has a wealth of knowledge and experience, drawing sketch cards for 12 years now. She was born in the Eastern Townships region of the Canadian province of Quebec, and still resides in the area. She and her family have been generously allowed to share a house with a Dachshund named Pinouche.

NSU: Thank you for your time! Will you start by describing your art style?

Ingrid Hardy: My style is realism, plus I’m a wannabe impressionist. There are many painters that fall into both categories and when it’s done successfully, it’s just wonderful. Besides sketch cards, I also paint larger paintings. I make a modest living in art, and shockingly, most of that income comes from sketch cards. Since day one, the idea of these little cards has appealed to me — mini canvases are fabulous and much more affordable to ship than larger paintings, and often more affordable to collect. My favorite subjects to paint are epic landscapes, monsters, people, and horses of any kind.
