If there’s a song that birthed tropical house, it’s probably Clean Bandit’s ‘Rather Be’. Their stratospheric collaboration with Jess Glynne propelled a wistful, exotic sounding blend of house music to the top of the charts and it hasn’t left since. Who would have thought a group of classically trained musicians that met at Cambridge would change the face of pop music?

Since that early success, the group have become one of the biggest acts in the country, collaborating with everyone from our former cover star Zara Larsson to dancehall icon Sean Paul. The group have become a festival season staple and are as loved for their live show as much as their records. This summer alone they’re playing Glastonbury, Ibiza Rocks and Pukkelpop, to name just a few.

Now part of pop music’s elite tier, in their cover story for Notion 76, Clean Bandit talk meeting Beyonce, getting experimental on their new album and how they went from The Chatto Quartet to the world-conquering Clean Bandit.
