MEDICAL students have travelled to the Highlands to complete a part of their course.
For the first time, four third year students from Aberdeen completed individual projects as part of the medical humanities portion of their studies.
Professor Steve Leslie, consultant cardiologist for NHS Highland and associate director of research, supports junior doctor and medical student research in NHS Highland. He explained that in studying medial humanities, students are encouraged to reflect on the processes of teaching and learning, and to understand the experiences of medicine, health, sickness and disability from different perspectives including that of the patient, health practitioner or family member.
