The guest artiste at this year’s fiddlers’ rally is the internationally acclaimed Scottish Celtic harmonica player, Donald Black.
Being a native of Benderloch, Donald has been firmly steeped in the West Highland bagpipe and Gaelic traditions but his repertoire extends well beyond this to embrace the idioms of Ireland, the Shetland Isles, Cape Breton/Nova Scotia and mainstream Scotland.
His international acclaim extends to tours of many countries. Having delighted audiences throughout the UK and Europe he has played in many venues from Kansas to Moscow. Donald is firmly established as ‘the instrument’s foremost exponent in Scottish traditional music’.
