MEMBERS of Bòrd na Gàidhlig, headed by their chairman Allan MacDonald, visited the island last week when they held their regular board meeting for the first time in Ionad Chaluim Chille Ìle.
Bòrd na Gàidhlig members with Ionad Chaluim Chille Ìle directors and staff.
The St Columba Gaelic Centre venue overlooking Lochindaal looked resplendent in the autumn sunshine and greatly impressed the visiting Gaels. Following the main business of the day members met with local Gaelic activists for a buffet lunch which was followed by a discussion on the aims and aspirations of the Board which was established in 2003 and had as its first chairman the distinguished Ileach and Portnahavenite Duncan Ferguson, a former rector of Plockton High School.
