COOKS in Lochaber are learning to eat better and waste less in a series of cookery lessons.
Lochaber Environmental Group (LEG) and Action for Children Scotland (ACS) in Lochaber are running their fourth block of cooking classes at Caol youth centre. The classes aim to teach people about healthy eating, budgeting, affordable cooking and reducing food waste. The classes make use of fresh ingredients and work with business and partners in Lochaber.
Jen Reilly, from ACS, explained: ‘Our first cooking class was really successful with every one taking part making various tasty dishes. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, finding out how to make nutritious and delicious meals while on a budget. We even had time to taste what we made at the end, which went down particularly well.’
