A SUPPER, auction and raffle will held in Pennyghael Hall, Mull, to raise funds for Bunessan mum Alex Cameron, who is flying to Singapore next month for treatment in a bid to halt her multiple sclerosis (MS).
Alex, who runs the Creel Seafood Bar at Fionnphort, is trying to raise £56,000 to pay for a new two- to three-month course of chemotherapy followed by a hema topoietic stem cell transplant, which reboots the body’s immune system.
Scientists have recently applauded the radical but risky therapy after The Lancet medical journal reported this week that a Canadian trial of the treatment had halted symptoms in most MS sufferers.
