NOMINATIONS are open for fresh elections to fill Oban, Dunbeg, Seil and Lismore community councils after too few candidates stepped forward.
A dozen community councils in Argyll and Bute were unable to form after the election on April 26, because they drew fewer than half their maximum membership level.
If unsuccessful again, they will fall into abeyance, leaving Oban, an expanding town with 10,000 residents, without a representative voice in planning decisions.
