REBUS creator Ian Rankin has hailed this year’s Skye Book Festival a great event.
Held in September in Portree, the success of this year’s event has added weight to the view that literary events in Scotland are increasing in popularity.
Organisers of the Skye event say the plaudits from their guest writers are welcome and confirm the major sponsors of book festivals throughout Scotland can continue to get good returns for their support. Headlining Skye’s 2017 festival, Fife-born Rankin drew a full house in Portree when he spoke about the origins of his character, Detective John Rebus.
