IF, AS they say, a book is a dream that you hold in your hand, then the upcoming Bookends Festival will make dreams come true this September in Benderloch.
Organised by the husband and wife duo of Joy and Campbell Cameron, and a team of ambassadors, the festival runs from Saturday September 24 to Saturday October 1, and features locally inspired authors and poets, spoken word, a Bookbug session, creative events, raffles and competitions. As a legacy of the festival, organisers hope to leave a permanent library area in Victory Hall.
'A couple of years ago we had an evening with the poet and novelist Kenneth Steven, who did some readings at Lochnell Primary and at the Lochnell Hotel. They were so appreciated and well attended that it led to us thinking about having a book festival in Benderloch,' Joy said.
