Police are investigating the whereabouts of £18,000 that was made from the sale of Dunbeg Village Hall.
The hall, on Etive Road, was sold in 1988 and was later knocked down to build the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. However, after failing to find any trace of the money this year, Dunbeg Community Council has contacted the police.
A police spokesman said: ‘On Monday November 5, police received a report of the theft of money from an organisation in Dunbeg.’ Inquiries are ongoing.
