THE NEW session of Appin SWI began on Thursday September 15, when Debbie Dunlop, vice president, welcomed members and visitors to Port Appin Hall.
The coffee evening recently held in Appin Hall raised £375 for the children’s Christmas parties and the visit to ‘Treasures of the Earth’ followed by a meal at the Loch Iall restaurant had been most enjoyable.
The speaker for the evening, well known Appin man Stuart Carmichael, got the year off to a splendid start with his talk ‘Old, old Appin’. Stuart’s enthusiasm and his amazing knowledge of the history of Appin and district and its characters gave the audience a fascinating glimpse into the past, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
