THE 23rd Jura Music Festival has been hailed as an ‘incredible’ weekend, despite the challenging weather, starting with a ‘brilliant’ jam-packed locals’ concert on Friday.
The sold-out Saturday night grand concert kicked off with master of ceremonies Darren MacLean entertaining the packed village hall with some outstanding Gaelic singing, before he introduced Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, who were in top form with their music and wit.
Diamh finished off the concert with a lively set that had the audience up on their feet, and afterwards the excellent Jura Ceilidh Band had everyone dancing until the wee small hours. Saturday also saw storytelling and music from fiddler Archie MacAllister in the hall and the Lakeland Singers in the cooperage.
