A MAN who moved his car from one parking space to another after drinking alcohol has been fined £1,000 and banned for driving for a year.
Ruslan Levinschi had been drinking with friends outside a rented chalet at the Spean Bridge Hotel on May 19 2016 when he was spotted behind the wheel.
Fort William Sheriff Court heard on Monday Levinschi worked seasonally as a barman in the hotel and that he was seen moving the car ten feet before making four or five attempts to park. He was then seen drinking an alcoholic beverage before leaving the vehicle. Solicitor Hamish Melrose said Levinschi, from Moldova, is single but sends some of his income to his sick mother who still lives in his home country. Levinschi stays in staff quarters at the hotel and had been socialising with co workers when he decided to move the car closer to the chalets to listen to music from it.
