A TAILBACK of more than 300 vehicles had built up behind a pair of huge transporters carrying two giant dumper trucks by the time the convoy made its way into Fort William shortly after 4pm on Tuesday. The vehicles were being transported from the Glensanda Quarry, near Oban, and heading towards the A9.
There had been concern that transporting the massive vehicles during the busiest time of the day would only exacerbate the already problematic summer traffic in town.
