SECRETARY of State for Scotland David Mundell is due to visit Islay today (Thursday August 3) to meet whisky industry representatives and discuss how the UK government is working to reduce export tariffs on Scotch whisky and other landmark Scottish produce as the country prepares to leave the EU.
Mr Mundell is visiting the building site of the Ardnahoe distillery, set to be the ninth distillery operating on the island, before meeting with representatives of the Scotch Whisky Association and whisky producer Diageo at Caol Ila distillery.
