HIGHLAND and island communities are being urged to take advantage of funding for projects to mark the centenary of the First World War.
The Heritage Lottery Fund’s (HLF) First World War: Then and Now programme is making at least £1million a year available for small community grants until 2019.
MP Angus MacNeil said: ‘Like many areas across the UK, the impact of the First World War on the people of Na h-Eileanan an Iar was extensive.
