“I love seeing the light bulbs that go of in people’s brains when they igure out a problem for themselves,” says Keri-anne Payne. The double open water world champion, triple Olympian and Olympic silver medallist in the 10k open water marathon at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 is on a mission to empower the world to swim. The Straight-Line Swimming methodology created with her husband, triple Olympian David Carry, focuses on empowering swimmers to learn and own their own swimming development. “Our approach to coaching is very much one of letting the swimmer discover the answers, as this style of coaching has a much longer lasting efect on the swimmer,” she says. Starting in our May issue, Keri-anne will be bringing her wealth of experience to Outdoor Swimmer with a series of six articles to help you improve your technique and get faster and more conident swimming outdoors.
