5 minutes with… Jaimie Monahan

In 2015, marathon and ice swimmer Jaimie Monahan, 36, became the first American woman to swim the 42-mile length of Lake Geneva

What inspired you to swim Lake Geneva?

I got an email describing the swim and it painted an incredible picture in my mind. The start at the beautiful and historic Chateau Chillon, clear waters surrounded by stunning mountains, then the amazing finish at the Bains des Paquis overlooking the Jet d'Eau, it all got me excited about marathon swimming again. I knew this would be an extremely challenging swim due to the length, but I was confident it would be an experience unlike any other.
