Swim (and run) wild and free

Credit: Paul Scully/Ali Richards

This month swimrun athletes Rick Stuart and Jenny Rice test out the best kit for exploring the lakes and trails, with a selection of swimrun suits from HEAD, Aquasphere and Huub. In our kit bag is a range of accessories to support you before, during and after your swim, including Deakin and Blue’s new round neck swimsuit, Puffin Swim and Swim Secure tow floats and reef-friendly sun cream from Aloe Up. Meanwhile, Jo Jones put herself on the swim nutrition frontline, testing out a range of goodies from Clif Bar, while Simon selflessly drank coffee from Selkie’s bamboo travel mug. Whether you’re swimrunning, swimming or just watching the horizon – there’s a review in here for you.

Based in the Lake District, fell running swimrunners Rick and Jenny paired up last year to win the mixed pair category at Breca Coniston 2018 and are both racing Breca Butermere again in 2019, this time together. Jenny completed the Frog Graham Round in summer 2018, whilst Rick has his eye on the 42-mile swimrun challenge this summer.
