How comfortable would you be with someone running their finger along your bookcase? Recently I’ve been listening to a new podcast from Daisy Buchanan called Youre Booked. In it, she visits famous authors and inspects the contents of their shelves. It’s made me take a look at my own motley collection of books and start to wonder: what do they say about me? Until recently, my bookshelves groaned with copies of GCSE set texts, biographies of the great and the good, and a ‘to read’ pile that seems to grow bigger the more I read. However, moving from a flat where the walls were lined with bookcases to a place with just one rickety bookshelf meant that I had to let some go.
