How do I know if my overthinking is having an effect on me?
You may sense a futility in your thinking: of going round and round and never reaching a satisfactory conclusion about an issue. You may notice your thoughts intrude on your sleep – preventing you from going to sleep or causing you to wake in the night, unable to get back to sleep. You may go through your day on autopilot, not being present and distracted by your loop thinking. Perhaps there is a sense of underlying anxiety and panic at the unresolved problems in your head.
