Reader’s Digest was first published in 1922 by American copywriter, Dewitt Wallace, who decided to create a new genre of magazine after reading several during his convalescence following a First World War shrapnel injury.

This new magazine would contain the most interesting and engaging articles across a breadth of topics, so that readers could read about the most important and interesting current affairs, news and trends in one easy-to-carry publication. Fast forward to today, and after 95 years it’s clear that Reader’s Digest has grown into one of the world’s best-loved general-interest magazines, containing something for everyone.

The first UK issue was published in 1938 and today, it boasts a monthly edit of the most interesting articles on current affairs, entertainment and lifestyle: from unbelievable real-life stories and gripping adventures to surprising money-saving tips. A digital subscription to Reader’s Digest magazine is the perfect pocket-sized way to stay informed, delivered directly to your device every month.

Keep up to date with a Reader’s Digest digital magazine subscription or treat someone special to a monthly dose of outstanding journalism all year round. Inside every engaging issue of Reader’s Digest you’ll receive:

  • Inspiring real-life stories
  • Insightful and thought-provoking journalism
  • Advice on money, cars, maintaining your home and garden and wellbeing
  • Expert voices dissecting current affairs
  • Recommendations and guides on the latest films, books, travel, music and television
  • Seasonal events, travel reports and holiday ideas
  • Quizzes, puzzles and the legendary Word Power pages
  • Fun jokes, facts and figures to keep you entertained
  • Award-winning health features
  • A monthly photo competition, plus the opportunity to win £1,000 every month

You'll receive 12 issues during a 1 year Reader's Digest UK magazine subscription.

Note: Digital editions do not include the covermount items or supplements you would find with printed copies.
