A mere week after Germany and Great Britain met in the final of the men’s eight at the 2015 World Championships, the two crews were at it again for one last time before the Olympic season begins.

The Netz Cup, formerly known as the E.ON Hanse Canal Cup, took place in Rendsburg, Germany and saw top crews from the

US, Netherlands, Germany and Britain. Following the trend of form, it was Great Britain who took the win over Germany, despite making a number of changes to the crew which took gold in France.

Melbourne University took the overall points victory at the recent Australian University Rowing Championships, after a stunning performance from their women’s team saw them take the victory ahead of Sydney. Melbourne finished with 446 to Sydney’s 434.
