King Matthijs

“I started my photography career as a lightweight rower at Skøll Amsterdam. One of the club’s members is threefold Olympian Matthijs Vellenga. We used to call him ‘King Matthijs’. For this shoot he brought along his girlfriend. As King Matthijs undressed, I was impressed by his athletic body. His girlfriend obviously had gotten used to this sight, as she frowned, commenting how much his back had developed from leaning over to the port side.”
