THE SIX NATIONS
This is the twentieth edition of the Six Nations, five becoming six when Italy
joined the party back in 2000. And during that time many championship
traditions have been retained while facets of the modern world have been embraced. That balance of old and new is always a delicate one – so have the Six Nations got it right? I’d say not quite. The age-old rivalries remain, with the passion of fans and players alike evident, and the tournament reaches a huge audience via free-to-air TV, with the technological advances in those broadcasts a big plus.
