DECOYING CROWS WITH BIN BAGS
Tom Sykes looks at how to use a layout blind to get up close and personal with canny corvids and produce fantastic sport to boot. As well as having a lightweight hide, he also deployed his crow rags which he invented many years ago and still get good use out of now. They are specially designed decoys made from bin bags and bamboo canes. Search for “crow rags” on YouTube to watch the video of how to make your own. The rags work really well with a layout blind because he likes to use a lot of decoys to take the birds’ attention away from the hide. He typically uses about sixty rags because they don’t weigh a lot and take up little room in a bag. They take a second or two to put in place, meaning it only takes a couple of minutes to have a large spread.
