Kirsten Lyall

“I love designing patterns that are great for all crochet skill sets, and this pattern for my daisy bag is a perfect example. I was inspired to design this bag because of my love for nature and flowers. I love daisies and wanted to make a cute, simple bag that allowed the daisies to be the star. This Hook to Hook challenge has been a fun and very creative experience, and I’ve loved every minute of it.” Find Kirsten at www.kreationsbykirsten.com and @kreations.by.kirsten on Instagram

Nicky Ward

“The lovely, bright yarns from Scheepjes instantly made me think of the 60s/70s and one of the world’s most influential fashion icons, Mary Quant, whom we sadly lost this year. I love her graphic style and had a lot of fun designing my bag as a tribute to her. I really wanted the daisies to ‘pop,’ and I decided I wanted different colourways for each side.” Find Nicky and her recycled yarn designs at @aheartshapedcherry on Instagram and Facebook and www.aheartshapedcherry.com

add the strap by joining chain stitch loops to the corners of the bag for the strap to clip onto
simplicity was in Kirsten’s mind when she designed her two-tone bag in double crochet fabric with a pared-down daisy motif stitched to the centre as the star feature
