For as long as I can remember, I’ve been an avid crafter. I made handmade clothes for my dolls as a child and, later on, for my own children. My kids are all grown up now, and they sometimes look back in horror at pictures of themselves in full woollen outfits, often consisting of jumpers with matching skirts or trousers.
It was my nana and mam who ignited my passion for all things yarny. They taught me to knit and crochet when I was around seven or eight years old, and I’ve been addicted ever since. My passion had actually always been for knitting until about six years ago when I picked up my crochet hook again after a good long break. I was going through a difficult period mentally and crochet was the thing that helped me stay grounded and calm, as it’s so methodical and mindful. I started making blankets, then shawls, and then I decided to have a go at designing something.
