“I was delighted to take part in this month’s challenge. I love designing and when I realised the brief was to create a hat using West Yorkshire Spinners I couldn’t wait to start. I had great fun incorporating the four colours into my design. I love adding texture and found that my favourite bobble stitch worked perfectly and the large pompom really nished the hat o .” You can nd Sue on Instagram at @sweetpeafamilycrochet

“I was very happy when asked if I wanted to participate in Hook to Hook. At the same time, it was quite a challenge as designing a hat was something new for me and I wanted to make one that I would like to wear myself. Lots of texture looks interesting in neutral colours so I chose a lovely crossed treble raised stitch pattern. Now I think this design is my new favourite.” You can nd Blazenka on Instagram at @blagecrochetdesign
From left to right: Sue’s design, featuring lots of bobbles in striped rows, is packed with texture; work Sue’s hat in rows starting at the brim, sew the side seam, then gather the stitches of the last row at the top and finish it off with a fat pompom using all the yarn shades for a tweedy look
