This amazing community project in New York City’s Chinatown represents how local residents of all generations can “STAND together, SPEAK up for justice and SHAPE society through civic action and crochet and art”, particularly in the face of the rise in Asian American Pacific Island (AAPI) hate in 2021.
The mural, organised by Chinatown Yarn Circle, artist Naomi Lawrence (@naomirag) and others, features over 3,500 crocheted elements created by locals of all ages.
