Once you’ve started blocking your crochet pieces, the professional nish you get means you’ll never want to stop. Slight di erences in tension and little mistakes disappear, and it’s so much easier to join motifs. Yarn responds well to a combination of being stretched into place and blocked with water or steam. Spray blocking (as shown here) or steam blocking is perfect for acrylic yarn (hover your iron over but not on the yarn) and you can spray or soak natural bre yarns and blends. Weave in any ends with a tapestry needle before blocking. Spray with water and stretch your project to size on the board (or a bed if it’s a big one!). Leave in place until completely dry.
