P utting together colour schemes for your projects can sometimes be a daunting challenge. Which colours do you choose? How do you know they’ll work together? What if you get it wrong and waste your time and yarn?
The human eye is amazing; it can perceive over 2.8 million different colours! Some people (and Mother Nature) seem to instinctively know which of these colours to put together, but for us mere mortals, it helps to have some science to help with our artistic choices. The colour wheel is exactly that!
THANKS TO NEWTON
Originally developed by Sir Isaac Newton in the late 1600s and early 1700s (when he wasn’t busy discovering gravity), the colour wheel simply sets out colours in a circle or ring to show the relationships between different colours.
