A double complementary scheme is another variation on the complementary effect and involves using a pair of complementary colours that are fairly close to each other on the colour wheel.
On the rotating scheme selector at the centre of your wheel, locate the rectangle shape and the words ‘double complementary’. Point this corner of the rectangle at a colour you know you like, then follow the lines of the rectangle to the other three colours at the corners of the rectangle – these three are the colours it suggests putting with the original colour. You can expect to see a combination of complementary and contrasting colours from across the colour wheel, which should create a sense of balance and harmony.
