Dorien van den Bosch

“I used my granny square from this year’s Granny Square Day as the base for my design. I kept the mitts fingerless because I love taking pictures on autumn walks but still want to have warm hands! The colours remind me of sweet memories made on October holidays in Kent – the clear blue morning skies, the chilly gray afternoons, the yellow leaves ready to fall from the trees and the orange pumpkins waiting for Halloween. I loved this challenge!” Follow Dorien on Instagram at @pop_i_dots

Jane Howarth

“When I was asked to come up with a design using these beautiful colours for this cold-weather Hook to Hook challenge, I immediately thought of bonfires glowing under chilly autumn skies. The shades also called to mind all those warming, golden things that make the season magical as the nights draw in, like pumpkins, sparklers and Halloween treats. I wanted to use this simple but effective stitch to let each colour glow.” Check out Jane’s work on Instagram at @janetarahowarth
