I went skiing last week. None of your newfangled indoor skiing-in-a-fridge antics along with thousands of other frustrated Brits who were at work when the Day Of Snow happened. No. This was a proper, French Alps, wooden chalet job with (so I’m told), the best snow in the region for five years. I even bought a new coat.
It was a good job the coat wasn’t massively expensive, because even a cheese sandwich cost me seven quid. That was probably the cheapest food in the entire resort, short of dipping into the bins. OK, it was a toasted sandwich, but still. I assume sevenquid cheese butties are all part of the winter sports holiday experience.
