Unless you’ve been working on a research station down in Antarctica, you’ll have noticed that mountain bikes with 29in wheels are the latest ‘phase’ in the industry. Now wagon wheels are nothing new – mountain bikes first featured 29in wheelsets back in the late ‘90s, though with a lack of forks and restricted choice of tyres 29ers arguably never really hit the big time back then.
