You Want to go RVing When...?

We admit that it’s always nice to spend this time of year RVing in Arizona, California, or even as far south as Mexico. Yet, we also feel that there’s no place like home and take pride in the fact that Cana- da readily serves as an outdoor playground throughout the winter.

Camping in the off-season is nothing new. But if it will be a new experience for you, you’ll be happy to know that a number of provincial and national parks across the country leave their gates open all year to welcome RVers.

From cross-country skiing on groomed trails to snowshoeing the backcountry in the Canadian parks system, there are a variety of ways to enjoy RVing and stay active. The best part, however, is having a cozy home base to return to with the candles burning and then enjoying an eventful evening around a campfire with family and friends.

What’s more, you can plan weekend trips to discover new destinations or visit an old favourite to experience a different perspective in a different season. You just might be surprised how a once familiar landscape can transform into a pristine, winter wonderland.

Of course, all of this goes without saying that safety should always come first by having the proper clothing, gear and utmost knowledge of the region you’re visiting. So, as we roll out another pre-season issue of Snowbirds and RV Travelers, be sure not to miss winter camping tips as well as accessories to stay comfortable while enjoying your favourite pastime in Canada.
