It’s Open Season to Travel South

As cool temperatures, damp weather, and gray skies prevail in many parts of Canada, snowbirds are planning - or already have - a southern destination to warmer climates for the winter. We always like to stress ‘taking time along the way’, and we further support our claims in this issue of how side trips - to or from a final destination - can genuinely define the RV lifestyle.

A trip to an RV resort across Canada and the U.S can be just as enjoyable as spending many months under sunshine and bright blue skies. Yet, travelling by RV involves planning where to go, how to get there, and for how long. This is pertinent for any extensive road trip and there are a number of existing attractions - and even new ones - to enjoy along the way for a day or more.

The north- and south-bound I-75, for instance, is a popular route among snowbirds and is certainly an exciting one with a lot to see. From the Bicycle Museum of America in New Bremen, OH, and scenic Cumberland Falls State Park in Corbin, KY, to learning about Civil War history at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield in Kennesaw, GA, all are worth enjoying before continuing to a final destination.

Campgrounds, too, are abundant. State or provincial parks and first-class resorts with many amenities and services can all be discovered. Chances are likely you’ll find a new favourite to stay at season after season. Regardless of the route, however, taking time ‘along the way’ will offer some rewarding experiences and ones you can truly enjoy by RV.
