BR Steam Western Region 50 Years On commemorates the 50th anniversary of the end of steam on British Railways Western Region as 31 December 1965 saw the end of steam-hauled Western Region trains.
With supporting text and a wealth of archive photographs, BR Steam Western Region 50 Years On traces the story of steam in the 18 years (1948-1965) that the former Great Western Railway lines, together with some lost, and others gained, spent as part of the nationalised system – British Railways.
