Eoin Morgan has refuted suggestions the new city-based Twenty20 tournament scheduled to start in 2020 will harm the county game, insisting it will help the public fall back in love with cricket. England’s limited-overs captain, a veteran of franchise T20 competitions such as the Indian Premier League and Australia’s Big Bash, spoke passionately in favour of the tournament when he
was invited to address county chairmen and chief executives at Lord’s on Monday.
