“Say something about yourself”, Facebook asked me when I first decided to be “visible” on social media. And what came to mind was “I am just me”. By that, I meant ‘what you see is what you get’, no pretence, nothing false “just me”.
It’s from that, that I felt my philosophy to become “visible”, was just to live my life as I wish to. You then think…. Mmmm let’s get on the ‘banging the drum and march for our rights’ thing, because it’s the thing to do. However, it’s just not me. So, what does one do when you feel passionate about who you are and want to support the glorious people around you and celebrate our gender. Therefore, I set my mind to be “just me”. That is why I looked at how other people describe me or how they talk about me. I’ll leave out the less complimentary, mainly because of my vanity, but I do prefer to be positive about all I do. Is that my first quality - I’ll leave you to decide that! Anyhoo, apart from being a bit of a tart, flirt and generally alluring (I wish), people have said I am good company, chatty, kind and with a great sense of fun. That will do I think! With that, I was prepared to face the world!
So, Steph set forth with a strong heart, a determined look on her face and a large red wine inside. I was freshly bathed, moisturised, made up, smelling nice and wearing my best sensible frock.
