The blizzard had finally let up a few hours later. Mark and I slept by the warmth of the fire for most of the time. Sure, we spoke a little more, but we agreed that finding the old woman would be a top priority.
The comfort of the cottage seemed so inviting compared to this frozen forest we’ve been aimlessly wondering in for hours. The trees are so tall and bunched together it seems as if dusk had fallen. It’s hard to tell what time of day it is, which direction this lake may be located, or more important - does it even exist?
