Since being the Cover Girl for Transliving 45, Susi Villa has advanced the cause of the transgender community and transgender rights by increasing the visibility of transgender individuals in society. In New York City’s 2017 pride march, for the first time in the history of the annual event, Susi introduced her personally-chartered, custom-designed float, which she populated completely with transgender individuals, who wore bespoke outfits that Susi commissioned and freely gave to everyone of her transgender-float participants. The procession was flawlessly executed, thanks to the detailed attention that Susi gave to every aspect of the presentation, from inception to implementation. Another historic first occurred on that day of the Pride March for the first time. ABC News provided live coverage of the event, thus providing Susi with the visibility to bring her message of acceptance, inclusion, and transgender recognition to the United States’ national audience.
Society certainly continues to benefit from Susi’s determination and talent. For 2018, Susi already has commenced planning a new float as she intends to expand her efforts to bring further recognition to the transgender community and enhance the worthy ideals of acceptance and tolerance among the general public.
