However in my spare time I perform standup comedy and am currently trying to climb the ranks to fame and fortune. I perform in all sorts of venues including LGBT, professional comedy clubs, and even above kebab shops. I’ve always loved stand-up and my all-time greats include Billy Connolly, Peter Kay and many more.
I still to this day can’t believe I’m doing it, because I was bullied as a child and really struggled with confidence. Even doing a presentation at university or being able to make eye contact with people scared me. I remember entering a comedy competition 3 years ago and being terrible. I was so nervous that my mouth clammed up and I was shaking liking hell. The lights were so bright that I couldn’t see anything and I just kept thinking what the hell am I doing here. After that I thought maybe this isn’t for me and didn’t go anywhere near a microphone for about 2 years.
