Big news this month again centres on the impending shortage of truck drivers to cope with the traditional Christmas delivery rush. The RHA wants the government to invoke an incentive scheme that will attract new, young blood to the transport industry, in a hurry!
At the big IAA Show in Hanover, truck manufacturers insisted that they can self police future moves to further cut CO2 emissions. Also, there are lots of positive stories on how the market is moving to contract hire for new trucks and trailers.
On test this month is the new look Iveco Hi-Track 8 leg tipper also, the new man at Weightlifter Scotland is expanding from a standing start and Good Year hosted a Brussels conference to predict the future of the road haulage industry. Meaty!
