GRAHAM HOBART / NATURE’S BEST PHOTOGRAPHY AFRICA
“I was absolutely amazed that such a huge cat was able to come down a trunk headfirst. Leopards are the only large feline species to have the unique ability to lock their wrists in order to carry their weight in this vertically disposed position. The descent lasted only a few seconds and I feel lucky with the way it worked out. Amusingly, when I hand people a print of this image, they immediately want to hold it in the horizontal orientation because they just can’t fathom that a leopard can move in this manner.”
